The KC Fed is a Reserve Bank is seeking a Facilities Technician to help us maintain our Omaha office and automotive fleet. The essential function of this role is to perform routine repair and maintenance on a variety of building systems including, but not limited to plumbing, mechanical, and electrical. Alternately our technicians also perform general building related construction tasks and maintain the exterior areas around our facility.

The mission of the Federal Reserve is to support safe, sound, and stable banking and payments systems. The efforts of our Facilities Technicians allow our associates to work in a comfortable office setting to carry out this mission. Depending on your qualifications starting salary for this position is $43,700 to $62,400. This is an Omaha, NE based position that will require you to work on site to perform the essential job functions.

In this role your general activities will include but are not limited too. 

  • Completing service calls and work requests such as reconfiguring office furniture, adjusting temperature zones and fixing issues such as equipment failures, loss of electrical power, and plumbing problems.
  • Assisting in various renovation and maintenance projects.
  • Assisting in inspecting and monitoring automated energy management systems and emergency equipment.
  • Maintaining service records and data of systems and equipment.
  • Keeping proper records that allow for the efficient management of our key and parts inventory and keep our warehouse and delivery records organized. 
  • Installing, repairing, and moving various types of office furniture and accessories.
  • Refueling, washing, and performing minor maintenance on bank vehicle fleet.

  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow manufacturer directions, warning labels, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.
  • Computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications, internet applications and operating computers associated with assigned equipment.
  • Ability to multitask and use time efficiently.
  • Willingness to learn to expand skill set to increase abilities and complete required training programs.

Requirements 

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work weekend shifts and overtime when required.
  • Vocational certification in a skilled craft, plumbing, electrical, electronics, or HVAC is preferred (equivalent military experience/training is acceptable).
