About the role

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  •  Develop short- and long-term plans that provide innovative development and growth that correlates with the Divisional Strategic plan. This includes identifying issues within the Facilities Department, determining solutions, developing mitigation plans, and delivering projects throughout Forest County and within areas of tribal interest.
  • Develops and implements a facility management program including preventative maintenance and life-cycle requirements. 
  • Ensures the efficiency and operational capacity of all building systems. 
  • Document and analyzes report for all regular facilities inspections which include buildings and grounds.
  • Enforces all government regulations and assuring compliance standards are being met.    
  • Establish and continuously monitor budgets for the Facilities Department which include the Maintenance & Operations, Grounds, and Custodial Programs.
  • Secure additional funding through grants and other forms of federal funding that will assist financially with continued improvements.
  • Overseeing the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • Serves as a mentor, coach, and positive role model for ethical behavior.
  • Overseeing safety and mitigating risks that will include the creation of policies and procedures.
  • Continually seeks improvement in process and efficiencies.
  • Facilitate and/or partake in hosted meetings on behalf of the Facilities Department.
  • Review all Department outsourced engineering, consultant work, constructional contracts, surveying services.

 

Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree project management or related field and minimum five (5) years’ experience in the construction/maintenance industry OR fifteen (15) years’ experience in construction and/or maintenance industry.
  • Minimum Five (5) years’ management experience.
  • A working understanding of housekeeping, lawncare/landscape, electrical systems, HVAC systems, carpentry, and various mechanical and architectural systems. 
  • Experience with building automating systems (BAS) and other related facility management software.
  • Must have a valid, clean driver’s license and be insurable under the Tribe’s insurance.
  • Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree project management or related field and Ten (10) years’ experience in the construction/maintenance industry OR Twenty (20) years’ experience in construction and/or maintenance industry.
  • Ten (10) years of management experience.
  •  Experience with SDS sheets, OSHA Standards, International Builders Codes (IBC 2016).
