Facilities Coordinator Offsite Facility Improvement

POSITION SUMMARY

Develops and coordinates facility based services including: equipment maintenance & repair, construction and renovation projects, installation of equipment, and building automation programs throughout the Mount Nittany Health System including Hospital Based Services and Physician Group practice locations. This position is responsible for assisting with the implementation and oversight of environmental, health, and safety programs at those satellite locations.  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

1. Associate degree in a technical discipline preferred (electrical, mechanical, plumbing

Experience:

1. Five + years’ experience in facility maintenance with healthcare facility experience preferred.
2. Experience in project management and contractor engagement preferred.

1. Demonstrated ability to use the English language, both written and verbal.  
2. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.  
3. Strong interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills.  
4. Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements.  
5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, contractors, property managers, and landlords.
6. Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.

License/Certification/Registration:

1. Valid Driver’s license.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Receives general supervision from the Manager Facilities Services and occasional supervision from the Utility Systems Supervisor.

SUPERVISION GIVEN

Coordinates activities throughout the health system satellite locations and acts as a point of contact and oversight for project management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Coordinates the day-to-day service needs throughout the health system satellite facilities assuring the equipment, building and grounds are kept in good repair. Engages contract services as needed and monitors work progress and quality.
2. Communicates regularly with practice managers, facility staff, and landlords/property managers to establish scope of work and work order priorities. Adjusts priorities as necessary to accommodate staff and patients.
3. Conducts periodic inspections of utility systems and equipment and executes maintenance programs to provide comfortable and reliable patient care environments.
4. Maintains records, drawings, regulatory evidence, and test reports for JCAHO, DOH, OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
5. Utilizes supplies, equipment, and resources to contain costs without compromising patient care.
6. Provides correct and complete facility information to design professionals to ensure existing conditions are known and appropriate.
7. Ensures that staff education is provided for newly renovated or constructed spaces and administers on-going educational programs regarding building systems, utilities, and equipment.
8. Travels to health system satellite facilities to perform maintenance, repair, and upgrade of building systems and equipment or to oversee contract services at those locations.
9. Assists Facilities and Plant Operations with capital budget planning for health system satellite locations by soliciting information from practice managers and staff and by providing a qualified assessment as to time, cost, and resources essential to the planning process.
