**THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITIONS**
Primary Scheduled Hours: Day shift, 80 hours per pay period
Job Summary: Provides and documents, under supervision, preventive, predictive, metered, interval-based and corrective maintenance on equipment. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities. Performs general maintenance and repair duties to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the physical plant. Incumbents use independent judgment in assessing problems and devising work methods.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs any requisitioned, corrective, emergent or preventative maintenance of buildings, equipment and offsite facilities associated with the district.
- Reports daily to the Facilities Manager regarding the general condition of the facility and the general progress of work being accomplished.
- Reviews maintenance requests and scheduled work tasks, checking to see that they are properly executed within a reasonable length of time. This includes requisitioned, corrective, emergent, and preventative maintenance.
- Ensures that work sites are left clean and that tools are returned to the Engineering Department.
- Make periodic inspections, noting general condition and keeping the Facilities Manager informed regarding the needs and/or changes required to keep the facility in safe, well-maintained condition.
- Performs requisitioned, corrective, emergent, and preventative maintenance of electrical distribution, mechanical, HVAC, power generation, plumbing and medical gas systems and building structures as required.
- Responsible for inspecting, calibrating, adjusting, lubricating and repairing or replacing components as necessary.
- Facilities coordinators will answer all after-hours emergency repair calls directed to them during their scheduled on-call period.
- Diagnoses system malfunctions on mechanical and electrical equipment. Repairs or replaces defective parts as necessary.
Education Background and Experience Requirements
Minimum Education:
High school degree or equivalent.
Required Experience:
Two to three (2-3) years related experience, with training and /or experience in one or more of the following areas: electrical, mechanical, plumbing, building automation controls, refrigeration and pneumatic systems

- Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timelines.
- Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner.
Compensation/How We Care For You:
Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation in increments increases annually.
