Summary:
The Student Facilities Assistant will work closely with the Associate Director of Facilities Operations, CAS, to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the Hall of Science and DMTI.
Essential Functions:
1.) Maintain the Hall of Science
Move furniture for and following events.
Ensure that the building is "set up" and furniture is placed in appropriate locations.
Check flyers and posts, removing outdated flyers on bulletin boards.
2.) Track the supply of gas cylinders for HoS
Ensure that an appropriate amount of gas cylinders are available at all times.
Assist with ordering gases.
3.) Schedule and maintain HoS 113 and DMTI 111
Assist with scheduling events for CAS.
Post weekly events signs in both spaces.
Check that both spaces have been cleaned following events.
4.) Assist with ordering and tracking lab supplies for the 9 HoS cores
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Part-time.
Student.
10 hours per week.
This position is available only to enrolled American University students with an FWS Award.
Salary Range:
$17.95 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
A strong academic background.
Be detail-oriented.
Have excellent communication skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Students with a science major are preferred.
