Employee Classification: Seasonal

Location: Tucson, AZ

Compensation: $14.35/hr. - $16.00/hr.


Job Summary:


The Face Painter at Old Tucson Entertainment is more than an artist; they are an ambassador of fun, a salesperson, and a key player in creating memorable experiences for our guests. This role will design and paint creative face art for guests, manage cash and POS transactions efficiently, and provide top-tier customer service. The Face Painter will actively interact with guests to promote face painting services, upselling designs, and ensuring a smooth, enjoyable experience. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about blending creativity with customer service in an exciting outdoor environment, where guests can take home a painted memory and a smile.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Engage with guests to promote and encourage face painting services, using a friendly and inviting approach.
  • Utilize POS systems to accurately process transactions, including cash and card payments.
  • Offer upselling opportunities for premium designs and packages when applicable.
  • Maintain knowledge of pricing, promotions, and packages to effectively communicate options to guests.
  • Create unique, appealing face paint designs based on guest preferences.
  • Provide artistic and quality face painting services while maintaining cleanliness and professionalism.
  • Keep painting stations and tools organized, sanitized, and well-stocked.
  • Greet each guest warmly and ensure a positive, fun-filled experience.
  • Address and resolve guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Provide friendly service, ensuring all guests feel valued and leave with a memorable experience.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic painting station, following health and safety protocols for skin contact.
  • Monitor and report any unsafe conditions or situations to the Manager promptly.
  • Ensure materials and paints used are safe, hypoallergenic, and suitable for children and adults alike.
  • Assist in promotional activities as needed, creating excitement around the face painting station.
  • Maintain regular communication with team members to ensure smooth operations and service flow.


Education, Skills, and Work Experience Requirements:


  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Prior sales or POS transaction experience.
  • Proven experience in customer service with a focus on positive guest interactions.
  • Basic artistic skills with an interest in face painting and creative expression.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage guests of all ages.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and safety.


Work Environment:

  • Ability to walk on gravel and uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Availability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, (required)
