Job Description

The Sr. Director, Loss Prevention will lead the strategic development of loss prevention programs, tools and techniques for fraud and illegal act prevention, deterrence, detection, and investigation.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for the implementation, training, and coordination of all Loss Prevention best practices. 
• Build and lead a team of Loss Prevention professionals throughout the company.   
• Assist the Store Managers, District Managers and Retail Loss Prevention Manager to facilitate the annual inventory process. 
• Develop pro-active programs that protect the Company's assets by reducing and preventing any type of Company loss.   
• Maintain a safe working environment in Stores. 
• Thorough use of Exception Based Reporting software to mitigate risk. 
• Initiate and coordinate internal theft and fraud investigations in collaboration with the Legal and People & Culture teams to successful conclusion. 
• Develop and execute proper case management and appropriate internal reporting. 
• Create strong Loss Prevention Awareness among all Associates. 
• Foster a culture of honesty through positive communications and messaging. 
• Work closely with Sales Audit to develop policies and procedures to better detect, report and resolve internal theft and fraud events. 
• In collaboration with the legal team, develop effective strategies to tackle issues of bulk buying/gray market selling, with a focus on preventing and controlling such activities. 
• In collaboration with the legal team, develop and implement strategies to secure our IP assets and mitigate potential IP security risks. 
• Provide guidance and support business partners regarding IP security best practices. 
• Conduct training sessions for internal teams and vendors/manufacturers on IP security best practices. 
• Conduct investigations into potential IP security breaches and take appropriate action to protect our assets. 
• Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices related to IP security.  
• Work closely with company leadership to train and develop Store and District Managers in all areas of Loss Prevention. 
• Liaise with local Law Enforcement partners and peer Security Departments in the pursuit of internal and external case resolution. 
• Build and maintain good relationships with all levels of Retail Store Operations, Facilities, Distribution, Accounts Payable, Sales Audit, Internal Audit, IT, Human Resources, Legal, Information Security, Construction, Inventory Control, and other departments. 

Qualifications

• College degree preferred, preferably in Criminal Justice discipline. 
• Must have a working knowledge of security equipment, policies, and procedures. 
• Minimum 7 years general retail Loss Prevention experience with at least 2 years in multi-store leadership experience. 
• Minimum 7 years experience in Interview and Interrogation techniques with full knowledge of all applicable laws. 
• Certified in Wicklander-Zulawski interview and interrogation techniques.
