Summary
Under supervision, provides exceptional customer service for individuals who are securing valid legal documents for motor vehicles, passports, and any other title documents as defined in the Ohio Revised Code. Performs specialized services and accounting functions, while maintaining customer confidentiality. This position reports to the Deputy Clerk III and branch Supervisor.Examples of duties
Specific work will vary based on the assignment but will include the following types of work:- Greet the public, including answering phones and directing customer inquiries to appropriate parties while maintaining a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward customers at all times. Ability to prioritize tasks and process multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Provide preliminary assistance by facilitating title transactions, passport applications, notarizations and certifications of various documents.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries. Communicate with customers through various channels. Determine the nature of requests, retrieve information from system or hard-copy files.
- Work within any of the Auto Title branches, and is prepared to work at multiple locations in one day to meet operational needs.
- Balance individual cash drawer, cash handling, calculating end of day currency, and entering totals into ATPS cash drawer inquiry, complete pay-in slips.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent
-AND-
Demonstrated proficiency in all of the stated knowledge, skills and abilities
(Usually obtained through a minimum of one (1) year of direct experience in a similar environment)
-AND-
A valid Ohio Driver’s License
-AND-
Must pass a BCI Background Check
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to work in all areas of the Auto Title Division
- Ability to use basic mathematics to collect money and record money transactions
- Skilled in providing optimal customer service
- Keyboarding skills to quickly and accurately enter, access, update, and manipulate data
- Ability to become proficient in job tasks through on-the-job training within a six (6)- month period
