Job Description

The role of the Collections Leader is to implement a collections strategy that will look to achieve a customer- centric experience and enhance financial results.  You will partner with colleagues in the Risk management, Technology, marketing, and Legal and Compliance functions to deliver strategic changes and drive process and performance excellence.  Responsibilities include:

  • Driving material improvements in Collections & Recoveries performance by optimizing 3rd Party effectiveness, contact strategies, tool offerings and segmentation while working with the risk and analytics team and developing the reporting and tools in which to measure performance.
  • Demonstrating a strong understanding of Collections levers, ability to dissect performance trends and transfer insights into an actionable execution plan. 
  • Ability to establish strong engagement and partnership with outsourced Collections agencies to maximize Collections effectiveness.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technical developments with the Collections and Financial Services industry.
  • Developing and driving a culture of Compliance within Collection & Recoveries. Create and oversee a 3rd Party Management program to ensure both optimal performance and Compliance are delivered against established thresholds

Qualifications

  • 5 years + Leadership within Collections and Financial Services
  • Proven staff leadership and performance management
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong key stakeholder engagement both internal & external
  • Active involvement and ability to influence others to desired outcomes
  • Handle complex disputes tactfully - exercise discretion and make complex independent decisions to ensure the best outcome
  • Ensure operations policies, procedures, processes, and disclosures meet regulatory requirements and applicable laws.
  • Proven collections process re-engineering and documentation
  • Maintain a great culture and foster an environment where people want to work
  • Coach individuals so that they reach their full potential

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $138,200 - USD $169,000
Zone B: USD $128,500 - USD $157,100
Zone C: USD $121,700 - USD $148,700
Zone D: USD $110,600 - USD $135,200
