Assistant Controller

Piping Technology & Products is a rapidly growing 600-person American manufacturing company that makes and supplies specialty piping products to customers around the world.

We are seeking to hire an experienced Assistant Controller to its 19 person accounting department to help manage the company’s growth. The right candidate will be able to support the company’s controller in all accounting functions, with particular attention to accounts receivable and collections, our accounting tech stack and financial planning.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Controller to manage and elevate the accounting organization
•   Lead the accounts receivable team, from new customer account setup including credit checks, customer invoicing and collections
•   Assist with PO reconciliations, progress billing and raw materials
•   Implement new technology systems and optimize existing ones to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times and improve the business.
• Prepare and review letters of credit (LCs) and bond
•   Prepare monthly reports and supporting schedules
•   Assist with year-end audits
•  Establish a forecasting and financial planning process for the company

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
•    Minimum 5 years accounting experience (Previous controller experience is not a requirement, experience across different functions of accounting is important).
• Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
•       Expert level of proficiency with technology
•     Proficiency in assessing needs and selecting appropriate software solutions
•      Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•      Self-starter, strong internal locus of control
•      World-class communication skills– written, spoken, memes and emojis
