About the Role
This position is part of the Electrical Hardware Development Team within the Molecular Imaging (MI) Business Unit. The MI unit develops Nuclear Gamma Ray cameras for SPECT and PET modalities, helping redefine what’s possible in medical imaging.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the full product lifecycle of digital electronic hardware from concept and design through verification, validation, and ongoing production support. You’ll work closely with project management, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure product success from design to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Development – Leading the design and development of advanced digital electronic hardware, including concept generation, requirements definition, schematic design, and implementation.
Design & Analysis – Performingsimulations, optimizations, and trade-off analyses to evaluate architectures and circuit implementations.
Implementation – Delivering complete solutions through schematics, BOMs, PCB layouts, cabling diagrams, VHDL code, and control firmware as needed.
Verification & Validation – Ensuring designs meet functional, performance, EMI/EMC, thermal, safety, reliability, and regulatory requirements. Validate through system-level testing and patient workflow scenarios.
Collaboration & Support – Partnering with cross-functional teams to provide engineering support for manufacturing, service, and customer needs throughout the product lifecycle.
Continuous Learning – Staying current with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and technical societies to enhance expertise and innovation.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or related Engineering field
3–5+ years of digital electronic circuit design experience
2–3+ years of FPGA design experience
Experience with electronic CAD tools for schematic capture and knowledge of PCB layout/packaging strategies for signal integrity and circuit stability
Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal) with the ability to convey technical concepts to engineers, product managers, and clinical partners
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, deadline-driven environment
Demonstrated quality orientation and customer focus
Preferred/Plus:
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience with FDA-regulated product development
Analog design experience supporting digital systems
Familiarity with Mentor Graphics CAD tools
Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and derating techniques
Experience with test-driven development methodologies
Prior exposure to medical device or high-reliability industries
Willingness to travel occasionally (domestic and international)
