2 weekend shifts per month with one summer holiday or holiday weekend shift and one winter holiday or holiday weekend shift.
Major Responsibilities:
- Performance of evaluations and treatment in a thorough and timely manner in accordance with established departmental and professional standards and procedures resulting in clinically accurate Physical Therapy plan of care.
- Documentation follows guidelines set forth by Accrediting Organization, APTA, Managed Care and Rehab Services Policy and Procedure.
- Maintain efficiency of treatment by coordinating activities with other Rehabilitation Service personnel, nursing, medical staff, and other ancillary departments.
- Other duties as assigned. If assigned to the Fitness Center, duties also include activities which support programming and other services available at that site; Therapists assigned to inpatient stroke units receive an initial two (2) hours of stroke education and one (1) hour of annual education.
Licensure:
- License to practice P.T. in Illinois or eligibility.
- CPR certified
Education/Experience Required:
- Graduation from an accredited P.T. program.
- Bachelors, Masters or Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Required to work at least one weekend per month and rotate on holiday schedule. May be required to work evenings. Very heavy lifting: Up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly. May be exposed to hazardous materials and life threatening diseases. This position will need to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients. This position can recognize needs and behaviors of the following age groups: pediatric (newborn, toddler, school-age), adolescent, adult, older adult. Evidence of this can be shown by recognizing levels of development and modifying approach and exhibiting communication skills necessary to interpret age specific responses. Cover off campus locations if needed.
- This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
