Job Summary
SummaryResponsible for collecting, packaging, and labeling hazardous waste, as well as maintaining accurate records and complying with regulatory guidelines. Also responsible for operating and maintaining equipment, conducting inspections, and following safety protocols to minimize risks associated with hazardous materials.

Essential Functions
Collects, segregates, and properly disposes of hazardous waste materials according to established protocols and regulatory guidelines.
Conducts inspections and assessments to identify, label, and package hazardous waste materials for safe transportation and storage.
Operates and maintains equipment, such as waste handling and containment systems, to ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Monitors and documents waste accumulation areas, ensuring compliance with storage regulations and maintaining accurate records.
Assists in the identification, evaluation, and implementation of waste reduction and recycling initiatives to minimize the generation of hazardous waste.
Conducts routine inspections and maintenance of waste storage areas, spill response equipment, and safety showers/eyewash stations.

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
Experience
Hazardous Waste/Biohazard Experience 1-2 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of hazardous waste regulations, including familiarity with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and other applicable guidelines.
- Knowledge of spill response procedures, containment techniques, and waste disposal methodologies.
- Ability to use and maintain personal protective equipment and other safety equipment effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage waste inventories and maintain accurate documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, carrying, and moving heavy containers or equipment.
