Third (Nights) (United States of America)Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a level one trauma center, is seeking a RN Unit Coordinator for our Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit (ICU).Hours/Shift: Full Time (40 hours) Night Shift
Department/Position Overview:
- 16 bed unit
- Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is the only Sentara Facility that performs Kidney/Pancreas Transplants and complex vascular surgeries.
- Immediate surgical recovery of Kidney and Pancreas Transplant.
- General Surgical Patients requiring ICU.
- Management of patients requiring mechanical ventilation.
- Management of patients requiring CRRT and hemo-dialysis.
- Vascular: lower extremity revascularization, Abdominal Aortic Aneurism, Mesenteric Artery Repair, EVAR, TEVAR, Lower extremity bypass, revascularization, Carotid Endarectomy and Carotid Stent, EKOS- treatment for DVTs, Medical management of AAA’s and dissections.
- General Patient Population Served: Adult medical and surgical patients requiring intensive nursing care. Average length of stay 2-3 days, complex patients may be there >30days.

Job Summary
Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty.
Behavioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire.
BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
