General Responsibilities
To train, develop and enhance knowledge of assigned duties and to nurture the skills of maintenance and operation of water under ADEM’s Administrative Code Division 10; responsible for safety operation/usage of powered equipment, tools, etc. used in the operation of filter plants.
Essential Job Functions
- Study toward state certification and train for operations as required by ADEM Administrative Code Water Plant OnlyMaintain buildings and grounds, lawn and plant equipment using necessary power equipment, tools and safety equipmentMaintain process instrumentation and process equipment basins etcMaintain solids disposal equipment, lagoons, and attachmentsSubject to work in different departments and cover for co-workers
- Train for receiving and handling chlorine, alum, polymer, fluoride, lime and Haz-Mat training for certification Perform other duties as assignedMust be able to successfully pass a respiratory facial protective fit test for the handling of chemicals this may include no facial hair for the protective fit test to be effective

Education
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
Pass BWWB Entrance Exam for Filter Plant.
Commercial Driver’s License, Preferred.
Certifications
Experience
One year of maintenance or water systems, related experience or certification from an accredited trade/vocational school in mechanical or technical field preferred. Grade IV certification training class experience preferred. Good verbal and communication skills are preferred. Basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Word and Excel are preferred.
