Role: Pueo has an opportunity for an experienced TS/SCI cleared Linux IA Security Assessors to join our team in Reston, VA. The Linux IA Security Assessors is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Linux virtual machines within the Intelligence Community (IC).
** This is an on-site role**
Responsibilities:
- The candidate shall design, implement, and manage Linux virtual machines in a lab environment,
- The candidate shall design, implement, and manage Ansible deployment in lab environment,
- The candidate shall participate in the planning of infrastructure on premises in VMWare, but potentially in the cloud, suggesting strategies based on new and emerging technologies,
- The candidate shall take ownership of issues, collaborating with other teams and leads to resolve issues in a timely manner,
- The candidate may perform routine system maintenance and resolve server-side issues as they arise,
- The candidate shall manage full system lifecycle including configuration and playbook deployment in test environment,
- The candidate shall document system configurations, processes, and procedures, as well as maintain and update existing documentation as needed,
- The candidate shall mentor other team members in Linux best practices, providing guidance and support when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- The candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience,
- The candidate must have 12+ years of experience as a Linux Engineer or similar role in a large and complex enterprise environment,
- The candidate must have a current DoD 8570 Requirement: IAT III Certification or the ability to acquire one within a 6-month grace period,
- The candidate must have knowledge and experience with Ansible Automation and Playbook creation,
- The candidate must have advanced knowledge of Linux distributions such as Red Hat, CentOS, or Debian,
- The candidate must have scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Perl,
- The candidate must have an understanding and some experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus), management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef), and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP),
- The candidate must have a solid understanding of networking, storage, and virtualization technologies,
- The candidate must have excellent troubleshooting skills and a strong understanding of system security best practices like applying STIG(s) or Security Templates.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ideal candidate is an expert with Ansible Automation, developing playbooks and roles for configuration management and application deployment,
- Ideal candidate has certifications relevant to Linux or cloud technologies, such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation,
