About the role
Works collaboratively with nursing leadership and staff, ancillary departments, and the medical staff to ensure that fiscal and human resources are appropriately assigned or reassigned to ensure that patients have access to care in a timely manner and appropriate setting. Decision-making, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills are engaged to ensure that a district-wide perspective is maintained in the deployment/use of resources. Skilled in data collection, management, and analysis. In the absence of administration, direct and supervise all service functions and activities, interpret policies, procedures, standards, and regulations for personnel, patients, medical staff, and the public. Performs duties in any nursing capacity, where competent, on an as-needed basis. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing OR Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in progress with completion within 3 years of hirePreferred Education: Master's Degree in NursingMinimum Experience: 3 - 5 years nursing experience with previous House Supervisor experience or 5 years related clinical experiencePreferred Experience: Progressive Care, Critical Care, and/or Emergency experience3 - 5 years progressive management
