Responsibilities
The Senior Manager, PlayDigital Accounting will be a key member of the PlayDigital segment accounting team supporting the segment accounting and reporting function. This role will have a broad range of responsibilities involving many aspects of the monthly financial close, financial operations, and reporting process. They will partner closely with a wide range of global cross-functional business partners to resolve issues and drive results. This position reports to the PlayDigital Controller and is located in Providence, RI.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with monthly close and reporting process, including the review and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of monthly/quarterly reports (e.g.AR aging, DSO, etc.)
- Lead monthly segment balance sheet and income statement flux analysis including documentation and reporting of flux explanations
- Lead efforts to resolve and document non-routine and/or complex transactions identified and drive implementation of agreed upon solutions
- Support day-to-day accounting operations, including leases, capitalized costs, accounts payable/receivable issues, general ledger maintenance
- Ability to understand technical accounting position papers and ensure properly recorded and accounted for within the general ledger
- Lead and/or actively participate in company/business initiatives, including operationalizing accounting for new transactions, the implementation of new accounting standards, and support of company-wide projects
- Support SOX internal control compliance and continuous improvement, including documentation of controls and process narratives, identification of control gaps and risks, and operation of effective internal controls
- Drive process improvement initiatives, finding and implementing solutions to resolve inefficiencies
- Support annual/quarterly audit process and lead/assist with special projects as necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field of study
- 5-7+ years of relevant accounting experience with strong understanding of US GAAP accounting principles
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, multi-task efficiently and manage individuals
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively interact with senior management and individuals with varying degrees of financial knowledge
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail
- SAP/Central Finance experience preferred
