Job Description:

The Information Security Specialist defines, develops and/or implements Technology Controls / Information Security related policies, programs, tools and provides specialized expertise and guidance on assessing risks, identifying potential gaps and providing security solutions to mitigate risks and protect the Bank. Participates on projects of moderate to high complexity and provides complex reporting, analysis, and assessments at the functional, business line or enterprise level for own area.

Depth & Scope:

  • Participates on complex, comprehensive or large projects and initiatives
  • Acts as a lead expert resource in technology controls / information security for project teams, the business / organization and/or outside vendors
  • Has advanced knowledge of organization, technology controls / security/ risk issues

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Information security certification / accreditation an asset
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Expert knowledge of IT security and risk disciplines and practices

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Organizational awareness and demonstrated relationship building skills, with a superior ability to make things happen through the use of positive influence.
  • Proven experience in leading technical resilience assessments, preferably in a large enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, cloud computing, and enterprise-level systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to find common ground and viable solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound understanding of the risk management landscape and disciplines at TD.
  • Skillful communication (written and verbal), negotiation and partnership skills to balance stakeholder input but remain objective to reach the right outcome.
  • Strength in influence and relationship management skills.
  • Clear-thinking and able to consistently deliver high quality work under pressure; able to act fast and work within tight time frames.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  This role will require contribution to program documentation and creating presentations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance technical resilience capabilities and promoting awareness across the organization.
