What You Will Do
The East Hartford Repair Operations (EHRO) has an opportunity for Senior Process and Manufacturing Engineering (P4) position within the Connecticut Rotating Parts (CTRP) engineering team. As a CTRP Process and Manufacturing Engineering (PME), the incumbent will report directly to the Connecticut Rotating Parts (CTRP) Engineering Manager and have responsibility for a subset of hardware flowing through the Connecticut Rotating Parts (CTRP) shop floor. The successful candidate will be a technical leader to the shop floor and have a hand in day-to-day machining, inspection and thermal spray operations. Successful candidates in this role enjoy working with their hands in a machine shop environment and solving problems daily. This position will support second shift operations.
Key Responsibilities
Being a technical leader focused on the Connecticut Rotating Parts (CTRP).
Providing technical support daily to the shop floor for any machining, inspection or thermal spray challenges that arise during the repair process.
Helping to develop and enforce standardized engineering practices, processes, tools and methods across products under your ownership.
Managing projects and participating in CORE business progress, lean manufacturing, project management, quality improvement efforts.
Driving on-time delivery and profitability improvements in the business.
Selecting and introducing new capital equipment to improve cell business metrics.
Qualifications You Must Have
Requires a Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years experience in Military, Manufacturing, Logistics, Aerospace, or Aviation industry; or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.
Qualifications You Must Have
Degree in STEM field; Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering fields preferred.
Component repair experience utilizing complex machining, particularly in an FAA Repair Station MRO environment.
Thorough understanding of manufacturing process and/or repair process life cycle
Strong technical and functional knowledge of turbine engines and/or Pratt & Whitney products.
Ability to read and interpret technical data, engine manuals and blueprints.
Experience working with CAD/CAM programs, Solumina MES, SAP ERP, and MS Office Suite.
Project management experience and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
LEAN, Continuous Improvement, CORE, ACE, Six-Sigma training and experience.
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior level management.
Proven ability to motivate teams to achieve business goals.
