At New York Life Ventures, we partner with leading technology companies and venture funds to help shape innovation across the financial services industry, starting with New York Life. We were founded in 2012 and have since grown to over $1B in AUM.

 

NYLV is made up of three interconnected teams—Investments, Business Development, and Innovation Services. We're looking to add a Senior Associate reporting to the Head of Investments as a critical part of a small but mighty team.

What You'll Do:

• Investment Analysis & Execution: Source and evaluate early and growth-stage investment opportunities, supporting rigorous due diligence and financial modeling from initial screen to executed deal.
• Market Intelligence: Conduct industry deep-dives, market analyses, and competitive landscape assessments to inform investment decisions and strategic initiatives.
• Impactful Communication: Develop executive-level investment proposals and compelling presentations, translating complex analyses into clear, actionable insights.
• Execute & Operate: Help us with the day-to-day execution required to support a large and growing portfolio of venture investments—no ego, no task too small.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with Business Development and Innovation Services colleagues to develop internal insights and support strategic opportunities.

 

Who You Are:

• 3-4 years in VC, PE, investment banking, corporate finance/strategy, or a similarly rigorous environment—you've worked in high intensity, analytical environments.
• A natural analyst—Excel and PowerPoint are your tools of choice, and AI has quickly become your superpower.
• Driven by learning—you stay ahead of technology trends, especially those transforming financial services.
• Confident, humble, and collaborative—you balance independent thinking with team-oriented execution.
• A strategic thinker who’s equally adept at understanding market dynamics and the strategic nuances that drive meaningful outcomes.

 

This is a hybrid (3 days in-person) role based in NYC—because we believe great ideas and learnings flow when we're face-to-face.
