We are looking for a skilled Senior Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist to join our dedicated claims team, where you’ll handle complex claims and make a direct impact on client outcomes.

 

Position Summary:
 

As a Senior Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist, you will manage multi-party commercial Workers' Compensation claims with moderate to high exposure and complexity, ensuring claims are processed efficiently and with a focus on customer service. This hybrid position reports to our Zurich office in Atlanta, GA.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Accurately document and update claims information for commercial Workers' Compensation claims, ensuring compliance with best practices.
• Exercise sound judgment in determining liability, gathering and analyzing relevant facts, and applying applicable laws.
• Verify coverage and determine whether claims fall within policy terms.
• Develop strategies for timely claim resolution, performing case evaluations, and escalating complex issues as necessary.
• Establish reserves and continuously review claim value throughout the lifecycle, within your authority limit.
• Assess damages by calculating the appropriate range of compensation allowed by law.
• Negotiate settlements, developing appropriate strategies and utilizing available tools, within your authority limits.
• Maintain quality standards and ensure best practices are followed in all claims handling processes.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in Claims and/or Litigation Management.
  OR
• Juris Doctor with 2+ years of Claims and/or Litigation Management experience.
  OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an Associate Degree with 6+ years of Claims and/or Litigation Management experience.
  OR
• Completion of Zurich’s Claims Training Program with 6+ years of experience in Claims and/or Litigation Management.
  OR
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of experience in Claims and/or Litigation Management.
  AND
• Must obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• 4+ years of experience handling high-severity Workers' Compensation claims.
• 3+ years of experience in litigation management.
• Experience with claims in Georgia and Alabama.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
• Experience collaborating in a team environment and building cross-functional relationships.
• Proactive in sharing insights and gathering diverse perspectives to optimize outcomes.
• Strong understanding of insurance policies and ability to apply this knowledge to complex claims.
• Expertise in managing complex litigation and settlement strategies.
• Ability to provide high-quality customer service through trend analysis and relationship management.
• Skilled in explaining complex financial and actuarial trends.
