About the Role
- The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for implementing the AER corporate security program and ensuring company and customer security requirements are met.
- The successful candidate will interface with all levels of AER personnel and government management personnel to ensure contract security compliance with National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), DoD Manual 5205.07, Contract Security Classification Specification (DD254) and Program Classification Guides.
- The position requires a self-motivated candidate capable of working in an independent or team environment with minimal direction.
- The FSO is required to conduct security self-inspections, apply risk mitigation methodologies, support customer assessments, and implement security measures to meet requirements.
- In this context the FSO must possess the confidence to make critical security decisions and to implement security procedures that will prevent unauthorized access to company and government facilities or information.
About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role
- The FSO administers day-to-day security programs: personnel processing, program reviews, document control system, audits & self-inspections, violation investigations & reports, receipt/dispatch/destruction/mail logs, visit certs, etc.
- The FSO is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing effective security awareness, training, and education programs.

Qualifications
About You and How You Can Excel in This Role
Required Skills:
- Commitment to security
- Self-starter with ability to work independently, customer service orientation
- Able to interpret company and government security policies and apply them to program and company operations
- Provide clear guidance to company employees, and recommend modifications to operations policies or procedures as appropriate
- Ability to develop effective security awareness, training, and education programs
- Strong communications skills, both oral and written
- United States Citizen with ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
- Thorough working knowledge of the NISPOM, other relevant DoD security guidance
- Experience serving as FSO/AFSO
- Understanding of Physical Security requirements
- Understanding of security databases such as JPAS, eQIP, eFCL and ISFD
- FSO certification with minimum 2 years of experience as an FSO
- Active Top Secret security clearance
