This is a temporary, 8-week internship with a schedule M-F 8am-4:30pm | $15.00 per hour
Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Administrative Health Intern will be dedicated to learning the administrative aspects of clinic operations. The Administrative Health Intern will perform clerical duties for clinics within the Hospital.
Primary Tasks:
- Contributes to Choctaw Nation Health Services Authority’s objectives by completing specific work assignments dependent on the intern’s best career and coursework fit and organizational needs.
- Participates in various Administrative Health or related responsibilities with supervision, which could include administrative tasks, computer tasks, etc.
- Participates in a trained and mentored role to gain hands-on operational knowledge of assigned responsibilities; performs basic responsibilities, assignments and/or tasks, shadows experienced staff and providers, attends internship trainings, etc.
- Other duties as assigned within scope and competency of the associate.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
MINIMUM
- Active student with major in Health Administration, Business, or related undergraduate degree program with career aspirations in the Health Administration field.
- Choctaw CDIB or Choctaw member status.
- Must be currently attending an accredited college, university, or postsecondary educational institution.
- Must be available to work 40 hour per week eight consecutive weeks.
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5; 3.0 GPA or greater preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written on a technical level.
- Ability to lift 20lb or more
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently or in a group and manage priorities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
