POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Banking Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional service and operational support to business clients, in partnership with the Bank’s Business Bankers. This position serves as a critical link between the sales process and ongoing relationship support. Responsibilities include assisting with onboarding, deposit account servicing, and Treasury Management product support. The Specialist plays a key role in maintaining strong client relationships through personalized service, timely issue resolution, and proactive engagement. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, product knowledge, and a client-first mindset.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
CLIENT SERVICE AND RELATIONSHIP SUPPORT
- Serves as the primary support contact for business clients and assigned Business Bankers.
- Provides a high level of service, fostering strong client relationships through timely follow-up, problem resolution, and proactive communication.
- Engages clients to identify banking needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Participates in client onboarding by gathering required documentation, setting up Treasury Management services, and coordinating with internal partners.
- Promotes customer retention and satisfaction by going above and beyond to address issues and ensure positive client experiences.
DEPOSITORY ACCOUNT SERVICES
- Opens, closes, and services a variety of business deposit accounts including checking, savings, certificates of deposit, and specialized accounts.
- Initiates and processes requests related to debit cards, stop payments, address changes, safe deposit boxes, and check orders.
- Works directly with Treasury Management and Deposit Operations teams to resolve depository issues or exceptions.
- Assists in preparing account documentation and coordinating required internal approvals.
TREASURY MANAGEMENT AND PRODUCT SUPPORT
- Onboards clients to Treasury Management services such as online banking, ACH, Positive Pay, Remote Deposit Capture, and Wire services.
- Serves as a liaison between clients and Treasury Management, escalating issues as needed and ensuring smooth implementation.
- Trains clients on how to use cash management tools effectively and securely.
- Identifies opportunities for additional services and refers to the appropriate internal partner.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processes routine financial transactions including loan payments, cashier’s checks, and money orders.
- Supports business development activities, including research and prospect outreach.
- May assist in training or mentoring new team members.
- Participates in ongoing learning and development related to business banking services and compliance requirements.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Will need to be able to handle stressful situations and function in a very fast-paced environment while remaining calm and precise. Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and enjoy working with the public. Will need to communicate in a clear, concise, and pleasant manner.
On occasion, may have to work longer hours than scheduled.
Must be able to meet deadlines, multi-task and adjust priorities as necessary. Must possess strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with all levels of management and the Bank’s vendors. Must be a self-starter who challenges existing processes and can identify and implement efficiencies and cost-saving solutions. Will have access to and knowledge of all employees’ accounts, client information, and the bank’s finances, so the ability to keep information confidential is extremely important.
The employee will be working in an indoor office setting in a light work situation (exerting up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects).
