Dinsmore is seeking a Project Assistant at our Morgantown, WV location.
Responsibilities
• Files, delivers and retrieves client documents as needed
• Answer questions concerning records and filings
• Keep records of materials filed or removed, using logbooks or computers
• Add new material to file records, and create new records as necessary
• Gathers materials to be filed from departments and employees
• Find and retrieve information from files in response to requests from attorneys
• Place materials into storage receptacles, such as file cabinets, boxes, bins or drawers, according to classification and identification information
• Assign and record or stamp identification numbers or codes in order to index materials for filing
• Coordinate all courthouse and emergency runs
• Coordinates mail delivery and pick up
• Assists with interoffice moves
• Assists with conference room set-up insuring rooms are clean and properly stocked
• Performs general office cleaning
• Opening of client/matters for the whole office
• Handles billing and time entry for certain attorneys
• Handles most of the office maintenance in regard to file storage
• Assist with office moves
• Relief reception duties
• Assists the secretaries with large projects, hand deliveries, and miscellaneous requests
Requirements
• One to two years’ related experience
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
• Driver’s License
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software, and the ability to learn specialized law office systems
• Ability to accept responsibility and account for own actions
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
• Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others
• Ability to adapt to change in the workplace
• Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task
• Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace
• Possess the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task
• Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems
• Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines
