JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to assist with identifying and supporting college-wide engagement for a diverse student population that enriches the learning experience, fosters inclusion and engagement, encourages civic participation, provides leadership development opportunities, and supports student success.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Travel to MCC locations for student facing awareness campaigns and classroom visits to showcase various student groups, opportunities and tools that will help students succeed. e.g., Student Advisory Council, organizations, clubs, honor societies, Student Involvement Record and college support resources.
- Assist with supporting the myHub student engagement portal, student officer myHub portal site manager training, support, maintenance and content contribution.
- Assist with the development, student recruitment, implementation, and engagement with students at MCC events, e.g. Student Focus Groups, Student Panels, Student Leadership Conference, Student Workshops, New Student Orientation, and other MCC events.
- Assist with collaboration efforts with various programs, e.g. Student Wellness, Career Experiences.
- Assist with innovative student attendance tracking at MCC events. e.g. QR code, check in app tools, etc.
- Assist with the development of promotional materials, flyers, and posters for student engagement opportunities.
- Work is performed independently and requires the employee to track their contribution to student organizations, clubs, honor societies, projects, tasks, initiatives, and events.
- Attend work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other college-supported systems.
- Demonstrated engagement skills that motivate others to attend and participate in college events.
- Excellent communication skills including active listening.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to demonstrate a positive and professional attitude and appearance.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to innovate, collaborate, and put into practice creative solutions.
- Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED
- One year of related work experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.
- Ability to travel between campuses for meetings or position responsibilities.
- Must pass a background check.
