Job Purpose:
- The Medical Assistant will play a key role in supporting our healthcare providers by ensuring seamless patient care, assisting with medical procedures, and maintaining a welcoming and efficient clinical environment. The role requires a professional who can effectively manage patient interactions and contribute to the overall efficiency of our healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for appointments, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed about their visit.
- Take vital signs and obtain medical histories to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing and treating patients.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and handle specimen collection with accuracy and care.
- Process patient inquiries, providing basic education and guidance to enhance patient understanding and satisfaction.
- Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers to ensure clear and effective information exchange.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, DHS, State Regulations, and Federal Regulatory Standards to ensure compliance and safety within the practice.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through an accredited program
Required Experience:
- Experience in taking vital signs and medical histories
- Experience in performing basic laboratory tests and specimen collection
- Experience in processing patient inquiries and facilitating communication between patients and providers
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working in substance use
- Two years of experience in a private practice setting
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to greet and prepare patients for appointments
- Ability to assist healthcare providers with medical procedures
- Strong communication skills to provide basic education to patients
- Ability to maintain a welcoming and efficient clinical environment
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
