Associate Director, IT Business Partner

About the role

Position Summary

Role will provide financial support for the Information Technology Infrastructure and Hosting (I&H) team, responsible for close collaboration with Finance team members, Procure To Pay, Vendor Management and Strategic Sourcing departments. You will create, maintain, and adjust departmental budget, monthly accruals, monthly spend analysis and creation/tracking of Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders. Candidate will also be responsible to manage vendor and contract worker on-boarding activities, negotiation of Statements of Work (SOWs), vendor agreements. I&H is heavily invested in Cloud technologies, you will demonstrate experience managing, reporting and supporting associated cloud billing and financial reviews. This is a key role for the success of the IT and I&H teams.

Position responsibilities

IT BUISNESS PARTNER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Experience in IT / business operations analysis and management, which includes review of monthly close and financial results, managing and reconciling infrastructure costs, planning and forecasts for project expenses, as well as develop and deliver executive level reporting.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, strong communication skills (written and oral), and strong analytic skills
  • Oversee the enforcement of business analysis processes, departmental standards, style requirements and all other procedures necessary to meet the business objectives and quality standards for IT deliveries. Recommend, design and monitor IT process improvement activities aimed at reducing costs, improving quality and speed to market.
  • Support the IT organization to manage financial targets and KPIs while still achieving key business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the IT Finance Business Relationship Manager, IT Leadership and various business partners to direct IT investments in support of the overall Finance business strategy. Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other managers and leaders to achieve key business and technology goals. Become a trusted advisor to finance leadership team.
  • Experience successfully managing large scale Finance technology transformation programs, project implementations, systems support and enhancements.
  • Experience in building efficient operating models to support the Finance technology needs of a growing and change-oriented company.

PROCUREMENT/CONTRACT REPSONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrated analytical and contract negotiation skills.
  • Plan, organize and carry out multiple related sourcing and contracting activities simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with SAP ARIBA procurement systems
  • Create and manage Purchase Orders.
  • Ensure correct coding and tracking to budget/ forecast.
  • Close and/or extend Purchase Orders when appropriate.
  • Track and report against I&H IT Purchase Orders by business area.
  • Negotiate SOWs/ Quotes in coordination with I&H IT lead.
  • Partner with I&H IT Vendor Management and others as needed to finalize contracts.
  • Manage all vendor onboarding activities.
  • Track contract end dates and ensure renewals are completed in advance of expirations (e.g., MSAs, SOWs, SLAs, software renewals, etc.)
  • Provide procurement related reporting.
  • Capital Requests and Tracking

CLOUD SUPPORT RESONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for working with the engineering and business teams to understand the future cloud service demand forecast and manage infrastructure capacity forecast.
  • Develop cost allocation models for shared services.
  • Identify incorrect tagging guidelines to ensure appropriate categorization of cloud costs.
  • Experience with defining boundaries to enable and optimize cost performance.
  • Identify cloud cost optimization opportunities including partnering with IT strategists and architects to identify cost effective alternatives.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, Education, and Experience

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-10 years of relevant work experience (e.g., finance, vendor management, etc.)
  • Accounting and/or Finance Operations experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of finance concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Proficiency using MS Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong negotiation and collaboration skills

PREFERED:

  • Experience in Pharmaceutical Industry is beneficial.
  • Experience successfully managing large scale Finance technology transformation programs, project implementations, systems support and enhancements.
