What You’ll Do
The Associate Director/Director, Patient Advocacy, LGMD is responsible for leading global patient advocacy strategy and execution for Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (LGMD). This role builds and sustains compliant, long-term relationships with LGMD patient advocacy organizations, community leaders, and patient representatives, with a focus on understanding lived experience and translating patient insights into meaningful organizational action.
Serving as a central liaison across BridgeBio, the Associate Director partners closely with Medical Affairs, Communications, Marketing, Clinical Development, Legal, and Compliance to ensure patient perspectives are appropriately reflected in education, engagement, and outreach activities. This role contributes to cross-functional planning by elevating patient and caregiver needs, identifying unmet gaps, and supporting alignment between advocacy initiatives and program objectives.
Through external engagement and internal collaboration, the Associate Director/Director, Patient Advocacy, LGMD reinforces BridgeBio’s commitment to putting patients first by ensuring advocacy efforts are thoughtful, strategic, and integrated throughout the development lifecycle of LGMD programs.
Responsibilities
Patient & Community Engagement
- Build and maintain productive, long-term relationships with global LGMD patient advocacy organizations, community leaders, and patient representatives through thoughtful, compliant engagement
- Represent BridgeBio at key LGMD and neuromuscular advocacy meetings, conferences, and community events
Strategic Advocacy Leadership
- Develop and execute global LGMD patient advocacy engagement plans aligned with program milestones and organizational priorities
- Contribute patient and caregiver insights to cross-functional planning and decision-making
Voice of the Patient
- Inspire and reinforce a patient-first culture by communicating the voice of patients and caregivers internally, including patient insights, unmet needs, and lived experience
- Support the appropriate use of patient stories, imagery, and insights across internal materials and activities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the primary patient advocacy liaison to Medical Affairs, Communications, Marketing, Clinical Development, and other internal partners to ensure coordinated, accurate, and patient-centered external engagement
- Partner with internal teams on educational initiatives and patient-facing materials, including review and development of lay-appropriate content as needed
Grants & Sponsorships
- Manage patient advocacy organization grant and sponsorship activities for LGMD in collaboration with Legal and Compliance, ensuring transparency and adherence to company policies
Digital & Social Engagement
- Collaborate with Communications and Marketing to support appropriate social media and digital engagement strategies that reflect patient community needs and values
