POSITION OVERVIEW:

This is a technical professional position within the Division of Information Technology, Bureau of Strategic Information Technologies. 

This position is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of systems and software for the Agency. 

This position meets with the business users and other IT staff to develop and modify computer systems to meet the business units' needs.

This position works as part of the licensing, datamart, and reporting team.

 

Works to write, maintain, and support our Cognos and Tableau reporting environment.

This includes creating/maintaining the reports in Azure DevOps, working with business units to build, test, and debug Cognos and Tableau reports, deploying reports to DEV, BETA & PROD with user guidance, and performing regular maintenance to ensure only needed reports are still deployed for use.

 

Assists the business units in determining their report and data needs.

Facilitates/attends meetings to form a collaboration between the business unit and technical staff. 

Works with the business unit and team members to define business needs and help create data solutions    

 

Assists in SSRS report maintenance. 

This may include building new reports, updating existing reports, deploying reports, or troubleshooting issues submitted by users.

 

Assists in supporting the Business Intelligence (BI) initiative by planning, developing, supporting, maintaining, and implementing processes, data sources, and data dissemination methods so that the business data users can easily consume the data.    

 

Ensures product and solution quality by following the Bureau's standards and procedures and industry best practices.

Works to ensure that the solution is reliable, usable, maintainable, and secure.

Keeps the development standards and procedure documents up-to-date

 

Researches and attends trainings in order to keep up with new and emerging technologies.

Maintains a sufficient technical skill level to perform required work tasks.

Works closely with other team members and contributes ideas and solutions to create synergy within the team environment.

 

Assists in Versa Regulation (VR) maintenance.

This may include such tasks as maintaining user accounts, sending out renewal reminder letters, creating/maintaining VR letters, and other general maintenance tasks the system requires.

    

This position has been identified as mission-essential. 

The incumbent in this position may be required to work during the weekend or on holidays. 

In addition, mission essential personnel will be required to work during disasters, to include but not limited to, work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.
