(Job #544422) Confidential Administrative Support II, Auxiliary Payroll/HR Benefits Specialist, Salary Range: $4,687 - $11,223 monthly. Hiring Range: $5,500 - $5,800 monthly. This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, 12-month pay plan permanent position with a two-year probationary period in Payroll Department. This position comes with a premium benefits package that includes outstanding vacation, medical, dental, and vision plans, life insurance, voluntary pre-tax health and dependent care reimbursement accounts, a fee waiver education program, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), and 14 paid holidays per year. Position Summary:

This is a pivotal role designed to support various aspects of the Sponsored Programs Foundation (SPF) employee life cycle. From initial onboarding and off boarding to benefits configuration, maintenance, and correspondence with third party vendors as well as the accurate and timely semimonthly payroll processing and reconciliation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing – 25%

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees.
  • Monitoring timesheet submission and approvals are done timely.
  • Calculate wages, deductions, and withholdings.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll policies and procedures.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees.

Benefits Administration – 25%

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company benefits.
  • Initial assessment and ongoing monitoring of retirement eligibility per the rules and regulations outlines in the Principal plan document.
  • Assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
  • Coordinate with benefit providers and accounting personnel to ensure timely payments and updates.
  • Administer employee leaves in conjunction with SPF’s Human Resources Coordinator

Human Resources Support – 25%

  • Assist with the onboarding process and profile set-up and configuration: New hires, separations, rate changes, category changes.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality.

Compliance and Reporting – 15%

  • Stay updated on deferral, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations.
  • Prepare and submit payroll and benefits reports as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
