DoorDash’s Public Policy & Social Impact Team advocates for legislation that supports the health of our business and empowers our community of Dashers, local business partners, and consumers. Through our advocacy on cutting-edge public policy issues and the programs that we develop, we are shaping the future of local economies. This unique team combines direct engagement with policymakers at all levels of government, advocacy campaigns, policy research and analysis, and programs to promote safety, and sustainability.
About The Role
Reporting to the Director of Mobilization, the Associate, Policy Mobilization, will support the day-to-day operations of DoorDash’s grassroots engagement and mobilization efforts across the U.S. at the local, state, and federal levels. In this capacity, the Associate will be a key contributor to the success of the DashRoots Advocacy Network by identifying and recruiting Merchants and Consumers to become involved in our public policy campaigns. Additionally, the Associate will handle all aspects of Policy Mobilization Events, including Lobby Days, legislative roundtables, and an annual Washington D.C. signature event. The Associate, Policy Mobilization, is skilled in political and community organizing and is passionate about giving community members a voice in their governments. The Associate is also highly skilled in event planning and execution.
The position works collaboratively and cross-functionally with the Government Relations, Public Affairs, Legal, and Merchant business units, along with others.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Recruit, engage, and activate merchant advocates on public policy issues at the federal, state, and local levels across the United States. Support Dasher mobilization efforts as needed.
- Identify merchant advocates collaboratively via Public Engagement team relationships with trade associations/chambers of commerce, as well as with the Merchant business account managers.
- Oversee a CRM system that tracks and documents top advocate campaign metrics and provide detailed weekly progress reports.
- Develop and execute legislative roundtables, Lobby Days, Washington DC signature event, and monthly DashRoots webinars in partnership with Government Relations colleagues.
- Maintain an annual policy events calendar and serve as the program manager, overseeing all aspects of planning, budgeting, and execution.

- You have 1-3 years of experience in grassroots mobilization and/or event planning at a political campaign, at a public affairs agency, legislative branch or in-house at a corporation.
- You have the ability to build robust and sustained relationships with a diverse range of people - both internal and external stakeholders.
- You are a skilled, persuasive written and verbal communicator who is skilled at building detailed project plans and presenting them
- You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with the ability to balance and manage multiple projects.
- You are passionate about giving people a voice in their governments

- Successful past experience organizing and working with small businesses in a political advocacy capacity

Compensation
The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
