The Senior Manager of Health and Safety Program Development and Assurances will hold a leadership position within North Coast Holdings (NCH) that supports the current two businesses and future business.
This position is responsible for assisting the VP Safety and HuP in execution of the current EHS&S initiatives across the NCH businesses to enhance the safety culture, and identify, evaluate and control risks necessary to implement next-generation innovations in EHS&S performance and operating efficiency. The Sr. Manager plans, directs, and coordinates Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) activities as well as participates in strategic planning process, tracking metrics across the Enterprise, and providing leadership to ensure the company complies with applicable Federal, State and Local rules and requirements.
The Sr. Manager will report directly to the Vice President, Safety and HuP and as a member of the Safety leadership team will assist in the development and execution of strategic plans to achieve overall business objectives while promoting and demonstrating the operating principles, vision, mission, and core values of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Assist the VP Safety and Human Performance in design and execution of the enterprise wide EH&S Strategy across the organization.
· Lead the implementation of standardized EH&S policies, procedures & training across the manufacturing operations. Establish and share best practices across organizations.
· Provide leadership, technical expertise to execute all EH&S initiatives, and driving a zero-harm culture with implementation of policies, procedures and best practices. The Sr. Manager will assist in developing strategies related to safety, health, sustainability, environmental impacts, and energy conservation.
· Stay abreast of trends, best practices, and public policy matters as it relates to environment, health, and safety. Relay opportunities and efforts to close performance gaps to the VP Safety and HuP to continually improve environmental impact/sustainability and health and safety.
· Independently audit, establish priorities and partner with key stakeholders (e.g. Business Presidents, Vice Presidents and Safety Leadership) to drive improvements and ensure OSHA and EPA compliance at the local, state, and federal level.
· Implement systems and processes for EH&S monitoring, measurement, and reporting.
· Lead the collection and execution of metrics, auditing, and key indicators to ensure consistency, compliance and EHS&S continuous improvement across the company.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Proven track record of driving EHS performance and cultural transformation. This includes the creation and execution of safety, sustainability, environmental and health standards, processes, and measures.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or Environmental, or related discipline. Six Sigma/Lean experience, CSP, CIH, CHMM, PE Certification is preferred. Six Sigma/Lean Black Belt preferred.
· Minimum of 7-10 years progressive leadership experience as an environmental, health and safety leader.
· Thorough working knowledge of EHS standards, requirements and the associated regulatory environment is required. This includes previous experience working with OSHA, EPA, hazardous materials, and emergency preparedness at the local, state, and federal level.
· Experienced leadership in managing EH&S for multiple, operations/facilities is required. Strong experience working with internal operational partners and regulators is required.
· A proven track record of successful implementation/management of a Human Performance/behavior-based safety program highly preferred.

- Vegetation management tools, practices, and procedures are a plus.
- OSHA, ANSI, DOT and tree industry regulations and standards.
