Summary
As a Dental Director with Gainwell Technologies, you will provide company-wide dental expertise and leadership to Dental Consultants; ensuring that diagnosis and related procedures follow protocol and are accurate to prevent and reduce cases of fraud, waste, and abuse of California Dental Medicaid.
Your role in our mission
- Principal Manager in recruiting, selecting and directing the work of the dental review staff specified throughout the Contract.
- Oversees all dental functions and responsibilities of this Contract including, but not limited to, participating in the development of organizational goals, applying dental policies, standards, rules and regulations of the Program.
- Oversees and supervises the daily activities of all dental consultants, ensuring dental consultants are well trained and follow procedures that are in line with the Program policy.
- Serves as a dental representative to the provider community including, but not limited to, interpreting program policies for dental services to dental societies and other provider groups, as well as DHCS staff involved in the joint Dental Policy Advisory Group.
- Advises the Contractor Representative and Contractor operational staff in dental matters related to California Dental Medicaid Management Information System (CD-MMIS) Operations, changes, and dental review services.
- Facilitates participation of the professional dental staff in Program development in a collaborative manner with DHCS staff.
- Proactively provides feedback and recommendations to DHCS regarding improvements to program policies and processes in line with the trends of the dental business environment.
- Filling this position shall occur no later than six (6) weeks after CED and shall remain filled throughout the life of the Contract.
What we're looking for
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience working for a government or private sector healthcare payer or plan.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of clinical experience in the provision of dentistry.
- License to practice dentistry in the State of California; must be current at the time of hire and remain current during the entirety of their employment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communications skills and leadership ability.
- Additional desired experience includes familiarity with California Medicaid and Medicare dental policies; Master’s Degree in Public Health Administration/Healthcare; and completion of a course of study in a physician healthcare executives' program.
What you should expect in this role
- This is a fully onsite position that requires working daily in our Roseville, CA office.
- You must be available to work Monday through Friday between 8 AM to 6 PM to total 8 hours per day.
- Full-time (40 hours per week) salaried employee status with pay twice a month.
- No probationary or contracted period. Regular employee (W-2) status on first day of work.
- Benefits starting on first day of employment.
