Job Description

Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. As an Associate Director, Long-Acting Injectable Implementation Lead, this individual serves as a central expert and external-facing lead for educating stakeholders, especially institutions interested in learning more about PrEP (“PrEP Institutions”), on strategies to improve patient access to Gilead's long-acting injectable products.

This role will work in compliant collaboration with Marketing, Patient Access Solutions, Clinical Nurse Educators, Market Access (Virology), Field Reimbursement Managers, Prevention Specialists, Community Liaisons, Medical Affairs, and other internal partners.

The role is accountable for harmonizing complex ideas across U.S. Commercial functions, establishing scalable implementation approaches, and enabling seamless execution to achieve access goals. Successful and compliant cross-functional collaboration will be a key measure of success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on LAI implementation, access, reimbursement education, and stakeholder readiness for PrEP Institutions across the East region.
  • Engage with key external stakeholders, including Pharmacy Directors and other decision-makers at PrEP Institutions, to anticipate and respond to questions about Gilead LAIs and educate on compliant implementation considerations consistent with the product label.
  • Develop, refine, and execute complex implementation concepts, approaches, and standards that improve patient access to prescribed Gilead LAI PrEP medications through effective implementation, access, and reimbursement education.
  • Act as the prime external-facing contact for significant LAI implementation matters, coordinating responses and resources across Field Reimbursement Managers, Prevention Specialists, Community Liaisons, Clinical Nurse Educators, Medical Affairs, and other partners.
  • Serve as the quarterback for questions from PrEP Institutions related to acquisition of LAI PrEP, workflow development, implementation logistics, and access/reimbursement education needs.
  • Develop solutions to a wide range of complex stakeholder, workflow, access, and reimbursement challenges using ingenuity and innovation while ensuring solutions are consistent with organizational objectives and compliant business practices.
  • Exercise considerable latitude in determining field priorities, stakeholder engagement approaches, issue-escalation pathways, and cross-functional coordination needed to support regional access goals.
  • Stay informed about evolving healthcare policies, payer and market trends, reimbursement pathways, specialty pharmacy dynamics, buy-and-bill models, and other developments that may create challenges or opportunities in the LAI access landscape.
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in patient access, reimbursement processes, stakeholder education, and LAI implementation workflows; translate insights into recommendations for broader process improvement.
  • Assist with and contribute to regular reports and updates for senior leadership, through the Director of LAI Implementation, on the quality, effectiveness, and strategic implications of implementation support initiatives.
  • Represent Gilead externally with professionalism, sound judgment, and cultural sensitivity, adapting education and support to varying account environments and practices without being overly prescriptive.
  • Exhibit Gilead’s core values: integrity, teamwork, accountability, excellence, and inclusion, in accord
