Job Summary: The Recreation Coordinator II is an integral part of the City of Greeley's Recreation Division. Each
Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing Recreation programs and services. The
Recreation Coordinators each oversee several part-time staff and may oversee one full-time employee.
These positions are directly responsible for the hiring, training, scheduling and evaluation of the part-time
staff. The Recreation Coordinators also schedule facilities, sell memberships, collaborate with outside
contractors, secure donations, conduct surveys and ensure facilities are operating efficiently.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree gained through a four-year college/university academic program or specialized
technical training of equivalent length. - One (1) to three (3) years of recreation or special event programming experience.
- CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire.
- The ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s license within 3 months of hire
- Experience working with youth ages 5-13 years of age
- PDIS screenings/training certification within the first month of hire.
- Spanish/English bilingual skills.

- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a
candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job, - AND Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Preferred
- Previous Supervisory experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Certifications are required for several Recreation Coordinator positions.
- Specific knowledge and skills related to program area.
- Microsoft Office software
- Recreation software (RecTrac)

Essential Functions:
- Creates, implements, and coordinates a variety of Recreation programs and special events.
- Works directly with the Communications and Engagement Department to ensure marketing
materials, website, and social media sites are updated with accurate information. - Fosters and develops principled relationships with community partners and organizations to grow
and market current and future programs. - Collaborates with Operations staff to ensure they have the proper program information.
- Negotiates contracts with outside vendors, instructors and other external groups.
- Transportation of children is required for some Recreation Coordinators.
- Comply with State of Colorado licensing requirements when necessary.
- Hires, trains, schedules, supervises, and evaluates part-time staff.
- Conducts regular staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Utilizes When2Work scheduling software to schedule employees.
- Develops quality training programs for volunteers.
- Develops and mentors volunteers and staff to ensure quality instruction and leadership.
- Ensures facilities are safe and conduct regular inspections.
- Works with maintenance staff to ensure all preventative maintenance occurs on a regular basis.
- Oversees pro shop and concession sales.
- Maintains staff certification records to ensure patron safety including CPR, First Aid, AED Training,
and various required certifications. - Reviews and maintains online and in-person trainings through the City of Greeley Training Courses.
