About the role

Technical Design Engineer is responsible for turning ideas for overall system designs into complete technically

sound solutions. Their duties include researching possible equipment and using engineering software to refine

and develop the system design. The position necessitates a self-motivated, out of the box thinking individual

who works independently and performs with a sense of urgency to deliver results. Strong time management and

communication skills are required to provide the timing and schedules required to bring new solutions to

market.

1. Draft and Design Conceptual layouts.

2. Draft and Design Detailed layouts w/ accurate integration of equipment and material.

3. Produce Installation drawings.

4. Produce Post installation As-Built drawings.

5. Field verification (as needed).

6. Collaboration with sales, estimating, project managers, manufacturers, and customer/end user.

7. Maintain change control procedures and documentation.

8. Manage tight project timelines in a fast-paced environment.

9. Document and analyze pricing trends for common purchases.

10. Have a working technical knowledge of equipment and/or services to be purchased.

11. Keep information accessible by sorting and filing documentation.

12. Support the goals and objectives of the company as part of a work group or team member.

13. Work in a team environment and perform other duties as assigned.


Intermittent travel to KPI client/vendor Sites (up to 10%) required as necessary. This position is deadline driven,

extended work hours should be expected in order to meet customer due dates.

Requirements


  • Associate degree in drafting.
  • Experience in AutoCAD required.
  • Experience in Inventor desired.
  • Experience in Revit desired.
  • Ability to learn proprietary modeling programs.
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be able to write well-structured, professional business correspondence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments, work with little supervision and well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
