Job Overview
This position will enable and execute purchasing strategies on segment level across the company leveraging synergies and specific capabilities ensure effective implementation, supplier relationship management and performance improvement, for the plastics injection molding and extrusion categories.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Strategy Implementation: Execute segment-specific strategies to streamline and consolidate the supplier base, aligning with company objectives.
- Strategic Partner Engagement: Select and manage strategic partners for long-term, value-driven relationships, ensuring their performance aligns with segment goals. Act as key account manager.
- Contract Management: Lead negotiations and manage contracts with strategic partners, emphasizing lifecycle management and long-term value.
- Performance Oversight: Set and monitor KPIs, manage partner relationships (BRM), and continuously seek improvement and innovation within the segment. Act as “key account manager” on behalf of the North American region.
- Risk and Compliance: Implement risk management practices and ensure strategic partners meet compliance and ESG standards.
- Change Leadership: Drive the organizational change towards a consolidated supplier base, ensuring alignment across business functions.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Strong purchasing capabilities including negotiation, supplier relationship management. .
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent understanding of risk management and have solid financial acumen. Ability to integrate sustainably topics in purchasing execution.
- Clear strategic mindset including analytical skills, data management and business acumen.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving continuous improvement.
- Adaptable and resilient with ability to adapt to changing circumstances and overcome challenges
- Capable of planning and executing complex project related to supplier consolidation and optimization of supplier base.
Supervision/Management Of Others:
- TBD in specific case. Operating in group context but with solid reporting line in BA/PA.
Internal and External Contacts/Relationships
- BA’s & GS, Local Purchasing, R&D, Quality
Environmental/Safety/Physical Work Conditions
- Ensures environmental consciousness and safe practices are exhibited in decisions.
- Use of computer and telephone equipment and other related office accessories/devices to complete assignments.
- May work extended hours during peak business cycles.
- The role requires international travel. Travel anticipated to average 20-30% annually but may vary depending on project needs.
