Your Career
Palo Alto Networks NGFW (Next Generation Firewall) group is looking for a seasoned and accomplished Senior Staff Software Engineer in Test engineer with experience in designing and developing infrastructure tools and scripts. You will be part of a world-class software test engineering team that focuses on development of infrastructures for Regression test authoring and execution of various ground-breaking technologies in the Layer 2-7 domain.
You will work with a multi-functional team of engineers solving interesting problems in the area of multi-product, customer focused end to end Regression testing.

Your Impact
- Work in a small and fast paced team to solve important customer problems and deliver most impactful results
- Work with different development and quality assurances groups to achieve the best quality
- Suggest and implement improvements to the Regression testing process
- Interview, mentor and coach new team members
- Design and develop scripts and tools in Python for automated regression testing execution
- Consult with developers, Test Engineering, and IT engineers to define regression testing requirements
- Design and develop dashboards and tooling in Python
- Design of automation infrastructure testbeds and tools
Qualifications
Your Experience
- 5+ years of experience in a test position
- Education - Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent military experience required
- Detailed understanding of modern network design, implementation, and troubleshooting
- Experience testing network security products, preferably with firewalls and intrusion prevention
- L3 network testing experience with knowledge of most common switching and routing protocols - Knowledge of L4-L7 network layers
- Experience with Python and similar scripting language, and strong ability to develop, maintain, and monitor automated processes is must
- Experience with testing public Cloud and virtualization environments is plus
- Good knowledge of networking and ability to work with open source traffic generators and tools
- Experience with commercial and non-commercial networking test equipment (e.g. Avalanche, IXIA, SPIRENT) is essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
- Past experience with technical presentations, customer interfacing, and requirements interpretation is highly desirable
