Salary Range: $77,000 - $83,000

This position reports to the Associate Director of college budget. Most positions in this job class will have responsibility for fulfilling wide range of administrative activities, however some positions in this job class may be more specialized on one or two administrative responsibilities. In general, positions assigned to this classification must directly supervise two or more regular full-time employees. Additionally, positions assigned to this class must meet the requirements for an administrative exemption under FLSA by providing administrative leadership on matters of significance with regard to human resources, procurement, budgeting, and/or regulatory compliance.  The position is responsible for interpreting university and functional policies, ensuring that administrative activities are in compliance with policies and procedures for the conduct of university business. The Manager trains direct reports and support staff throughout their unit on administrative procedures and requirements and serves as a liaison with other administrative departments. This position advises department staff and faculty on administrative matters and uses considerable discretion and judgment to counsel staff and faculty on appropriate courses of action.

Leadership & Staff Development:
Hire, train, supervise, and coach Fiscal & Business Analyst I and II staff. Act as a team lead and mentor for fiscal personnel across the unit, including those not under direct supervision. Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture aligned with unit goals.
Financial Oversight & Reconciliation:
Perform comprehensive reconciliation of university funds, ensuring alignment with official financial reports and source documentation. Hold Accountable Officer Designee role to approve correcting entries. Oversee payroll allocations, validate chartfields, and align payroll budgeting with financial objectives. Identify and communicate potential over/under allocations to leadership and principal investigators (PIs), recommending corrective actions.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Direct the development of budgets, projections, and forecasting models across multiple funding streams.
Prepare annual auxiliary cash flow forecasts and foundation chair budgets.
Initiate and authorize budget adjustments based on utilization metrics and strategic priorities.
Balance Sheet Oversight:
Oversee all balance sheet-related activities for the college. Monitor receivables, cash variances, and liabilities; resolve discrepancies and provide strategic insights.
Reporting & Financial Analysis:
Produce and interpret financial statements, spreadsheets, and consolidated reports.
Conduct budget-to-actuals and variance analyses; recommend strategic adjustments.
Design ad hoc financial models and schedules to support decision-making and resource optimization.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or other field directly related to the position's specific responsibilities and four years of professional business experience; or a Master's degree in the same fields and two years of experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

• (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
• Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration
required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the
advertised description of the position of employment.
• Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
