In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
Federal Work Study student may apply.
In good disciplinary standing.
Must be located in the U.S.

The Summer Programs Student Life Assistant (SPSLA) supports the student experience for Berklee Summer Programs by assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of extracurricular programming. In the spring, this role helps prepare for summer events, housing-related activities, holiday programming, Berklee Onsite, and Aspire: Five-Week events. During the summer, the SPSLA works closely with housing staff and Student Life Assistant Managers to facilitate events, excursions, and student engagement opportunities, while assisting with program check-ins, customer service, and day-to-day operations. This role requires occasional early morning, evening, and weekend availability during the summer months. This position is a hybrid-modality position, with an increase of in-person work starting at the end of the spring semester.Responsibilities:
Assist with planning and coordinating student life events, summer holiday programming, Berklee Onsite, and Aspire: Five-Week extracurriculars
Collaborate with Student Life Assistant Managers to execute events and coordinate chaperone assignments
Support check-in events and processes by managing lines, answering questions, and troubleshooting issues
Help organize and oversee student activities, excursions, and housing-related programming
Provide customer service to students, families, and staff during events and check-ins
Assist with administrative and operational tasks as needed, such as contacting vendors, answering phones, supporting program directors and staff, filing, photocopying, and ordering supplies, etc.
Work early morning, evening, and weekend hours as needed during the summer to support programming
Requirements and Qualifications:
Prior event planning and customer service experience is required
Candidate must demonstrate:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Cultural sensitivity, honesty, and self-motivation
A positive attitude and the ability to serve as a role model for peers
Should be a self-starter and collaborative team member, as they will work both independently and alongside the Summer Programs Operations and Student Life teams
Must be able to commit to 10-12 hours per week during the academic year, with an interest in increasing hours as allowed once summer break begins
During the summer: must have availability for early mornings, evenings, and weekends to support check-ins and student events
Should be proficient in:
Google Suite - Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Calendar
Microsoft Suite - Excel, Powerpoint, Word
