Role Overview:

Chubb is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of insurance compliance reporting tools. This role requires a deep understanding of insurance compliance requirements and the ability to effectively lead both onshore and offshore resources in the development of high-quality software solutions. The Senior Software Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy reporting tools that ensure Chubb's compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a team of onshore and offshore software developers, providing technical guidance and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  2. Design and develop web-based compliance reporting tools using Microsoft .NET components, including SQL Server, SSIS, and C# technologies.
  3. Develop and maintain integrations between compliance reporting tools and other systems using APIs and Service Oriented Architecture.
  4. Collaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand compliance requirements and translate them into functional software specifications.
  5. Conduct code reviews, perform unit testing, and ensure adherence to software development best practices and quality standards.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to the compliance reporting tools, providing efficient and effective solutions.
  7. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies related to insurance compliance reporting and propose improvements to existing processes and systems.
  8. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior members of the software development team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in software development, with a focus on Microsoft .NET technologies.
  • Extensive experience leading onshore and offshore resources in the development of software solutions, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft .NET components, including SQL Server, SSIS, and C#. Familiarity with JavaScript, Angular, or other web development frameworks is a plus.
  • Proven experience working with APIs and developing integrations using Service Oriented Architecture.
  • Knowledge of insurance compliance regulations, reporting requirements, and industry best practices is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.

In Jersey City, NJ the pay range for the role is $101,000 to $172,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
