Registered Dietician/Nutritionist
Location: St Francis Healthcare, Wilmington, DE
Status: Full time
Shift: Mon to Fri, 8 am to 430 pm
Position Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to use your knowledge of clinical nutrition and therapeutic diets to support participant health. This includes completing nutrition assessments, honoring food preferences and dietary needs, reviewing diets and supplements, conducting meal rounds and sanitation checks, and providing nutrition education to participants, caregivers, and staff.
Position Details:
This position will occasionally require home visits. Also, occasional travel to the Wilmington location will be required.
Position will also supervise 2 dietary aides.
What you will do:
Conduct initial and annual comprehensive nutritional assessment on all participants. Coordinates with the interdisciplinary team to develop a comprehensive care plan for each participant.
Monitor monthly weights, medical diagnosis, drug nutrient interactions, reports changes to the interdisciplinary team and makes recommendations for changes to appropriate staff.
Perform initial and annual competencies on the Dietary Aide(s).
Oversee maintenance/cleanliness and orderliness of serving kitchen.
Act as a liaison with contracted meal service to ensure meals meet the needs of the PACE participants.
Provide education and training to health care professionals as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in food and nutrition, dietetics or a related field
Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist licensure.
Minimum one (1) year of documented experience working with frail or elderly population.
Action-oriented with strong business judgment and decision-making skills.
Adaptable, customer-focused, and able to manage conflict effectively.
Works independently with a high level of accountability and minimal supervision.
Strong collaborator across teams and comfortable in virtual, shared leadership environments.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic email/calendar systems; able to learn other tools as needed.
Valid Drivers license, insurance and use of personal vehicle required.
Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to multitask, adjust priorities, and maintain strong customer service under pressure.
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
