Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Category Specialist – Water Heaters, Pumps & Tanks. The Category Specialist will be responsible for supporting the profitable growth of the Water Heaters, Pumps & Tanks Category. This associate will support the enterprise strategy for appliances across all business and channels. This position will report into the Category Program Manager – Water Heaters, Pumps & Tanks.
Location:
This is a Hybrid role based out of Newport News, VA HQ location, in accordance with the Ferguson Flex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote. May require more time in the office initially for training and onboarding.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Help resolve vendor-related problems regarding performance, service, timing, quality, quantity, delivery, industry, and more.
- Assist in pricing strategy development and execution.
- Maintain and update vendor price files.
- Build an ongoing awareness of industry trends.
- Integrate products and categories across Ferguson’s sales channels as needed.
- Ensure vendor program and product information is accurate and available to Ferguson’s sales and management teams.
- Develop and complete internal reporting for the category.
- Interact with multiple internal teams to implement category strategy and support supplier programs.
Areas of impact:
Sets day-to-day objectives and deliver job responsibilities that may vary outside typical norms or practices. Work independently and may be required to apply discretion within established operational boundaries and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in relevant field is preferred
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Able to manage priorities and get tasks accomplished in a timely and efficient manner.
- Possesses intermediate MS Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint skills.
- Able to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Highly motivated and customer service oriented.

Pay Range:

$4,124.70 - $6,783.70-
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
