Job Purpose
Reports to the Materials Manager and collaborates closely with the Operations, Receiving, Customer Service, and Material planning personnel.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Know and comply with the Safety Regulations of the Company, to prevent accidents, avoid acts and unsafe conditions.
• Provide strategic direction for related warehouse activities the facility has, oversees and assists in the development of the receiving, warehouse, and shipping departments.
• Develop and execute strategies for increased customer satisfaction, safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
• Drive culture change, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset throughout the warehouse team.
• Accomplish KPI’S target and create action plans for the ones that are not in target.
• Promote effective Health, Safety, and Environmental programs and practices, ensuring that high standards of site safety are established, met, and that the warehouse is maintained in accordance with relevant regulations, agency standards and fiscal considerations.
• Establish and implement standard warehouse practices by implementing and executing the Dana Operating System, DOS. Develop and maintain an effective warehouse leadership supervisor.
• Improve and develop organizational capabilities through effective performance management and planning/utilization of human and capital resources.
• Create and update reports to track warehouse targets and opportunities.
• Support communication flow between different departments giving the tools they need from warehouse team.
• Ensure that the systems are being used correctly for proper inventory management. (Oracle EBS)
• Warehouse personnel development and succession.
• Maintains effective communication with all departments.
• Meet production and shipping schedules.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Requirements:
• 5+ years related work experience in a role of supervisor Inventory, or Materials Management
• Thorough knowledge of MRP, inventory control, purchasing procedures and internal controls.
• Logistic/Warehouse experience.
• Ability to represent the company effectively in dealing with suppliers and logistic companies.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to develop, execute and achieve tactical and strategic initiatives through active leadership that positively impact business plans, operating profits, practices, policies and procedures.
• Good communications skills (both oral and written) and good negotiating skills.
• Solid decision-making skills
• Excellent computer skills
• Demonstrated experience with widely accepted MRP systems and applications software. (Oracle EBS preferred)
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress.
• Engage in matters involving high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism and tact.
• Working knowledge of various supply chain strategies including, JIT, Kanban with a thorough understanding of production and inventory control principles.
• Ability to create, track and meet schedules at a multi-task level along with project management skills.
• Proven analytical/technical aptitude.
• Coaching, mentoring, teaching skills
• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
• Teamwork/collaborative style
• Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines.
• Experience with Automotive JIT systems, FIFO, and pull systems.
• Work overtime and travel as required
