Summary:
Receiving Inspection / Inspector
Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties which includes, but is not limited to handling all incoming material, measuring material, and processing all customer returns.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Handle all incoming receivables (raw materials, sheet metal, liquids, adhesives, and non-inventoried items) by logging them into the database, assigning lot numbers (if applicable) verifying purchase order requirements and processing paperwork.
• Measure all incoming production items (materials, components, or outsourced parts) as needed, to ensure they conform to purchase order and drawing requirements using hand tools (micrometers, calipers, thickness gage, pin sets, etc....)
• Process all customer returns to ensure parts are properly processed through the QA system and validate the rejection.
• Write discrepancy reports on all customer returns and any issues that are found during the receiving inspection process. Push for disposition and assist with the rework/scrap of the parts.
• Keep current records for incoming items with shelf-liferequirements including setting up recall notices for expiring material
• Assist within department when needed with sorting or inspecting parts when non-conformances arise.
• Participate in AS9100 audits where applicable.
• All other duties and assignment as assigned.
Primary Tasks:
- Experience interpreting Engineering drawings.
- Experience using measuring equipment, i.e., calipers, micrometers, scales, pin gages, etc.
- Experience working with external material standards, AMS, ASTM.
- ERP/MRP experience.
- Knowledge of nonconforming material control, material review board (MRB).
- Limited shelf-life materials.
- Approved Supplier List
Preferred but not required
- Have worked in regulated industries, i.e., Aerospace, Medical Device, DOD.
- Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) experience.
- Experience with Lot Control, Lot Traceability.
- Using sampling Inspection Plans.
- AS 9100/ISO requirements.
Experience with internal and external Quality audits and compliance.
- Perform material inspection following specification,
- To ship, receive, and deliver supplies, materials and equipment, maintain inventory control and records.
- This position involves lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Performs system and/or manual tasks to support inbound and outbound operations.
- Perform tasks in various functional areas such as customer order picking, packing, stocking, quality control, loading, and unloading freight.
- Prepares outbound shipments by sorting product onto fixed sorting rails.
- Enter data into a Quantum (ERP System) and other computer programs.
- Record and report any damaged products/merchandise to the designated supervisor.
- Maintain a safe work environment and report all maintenance or safety issues requiring corrective action.
- Create Airway Bills and ensure courier pickups are scheduled.
- Ensure all orders are packaged according to ATA Spec 300 regulations.
- Participate in all scheduled physical inventories.
- FAA Regulation as it relates to Parts Distributors.
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Education: High School Diploma/equivalent required
• 2-4 years of related work experience
• Detailed oriented, well organized, self-motivated and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to prioritize workload
• Ability to exercise independent judgment
• Proficient in Microsoft office products and use of computers
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Education: Associate degree or 4 years of equivalent work experience
• Experience in Receiving Inspection Role (Aerospace Industry)
• Ability to read Blueprints
• Understands Specifications and purchase orders
• Knowledge of measuring tools - Calipers, Micrometers, Radius Gages and other hand tools.
• Ability to communicate with customers and supplier efficiently and effectively (A MUST).
