7a-7:30p / Part Time / 24 hours

 

We’re seeking an experienced Registered Nurse, Wound Care Acute Rehabilitation nurse experience responsible for being a capable clinician who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population and routinely uses acquired knowledge, theory, research and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations. This RN professional can apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice, and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient/family while serving as a resource to colleagues and strong advocate for them. This individual will:

  • Directs agency-wide initiatives for pressure ulcer prevention, wound care and ostomy care, to include supporting pressure ulcer prevalence data collection, evidence-based policies, procedures, and protocols, and advisement of appropriate support surfaces, products, and staff decision-making algorithms.
  • Develops and conducts educational programs and clinical instruction for Emory Healthcare staff and students enrolled in Emory University's Wound Ostomy Continence Education Program.
  • Provides advanced clinical guidance to physicians and nursing staff regarding the management of complex wounds, fistulas, moisture management, and pressure ulcers.
  • Determines appropriate nursing interventions for identified patient problems, symptoms, and teaching needs in respect to wound and ostomy care.
  • Recommends the equipment, materials, and resources needed to successfully implement a wound or ostomy care plan.
  • Performs appropriate pre-operative stoma site marking and ostomy education.
  • Develops and conducts post-operative ostomy education and ostomy care plan for the patient and family.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.
  • Two years of recent (within the past five years) Registered Nursing experience.
  • Completion of an accredited WOC Nursing Education program.
  • Must achieve certification in Wound Care and Ostomy Care within 12 months. Certification in Continence Care is not required, but preferred.
  • Previous experience in Wound and Ostomy care preferred.
  • BLS required. ACLS may be required on some units.
