Mig Welder - Sonoco Metco

Position: Mig Welder
Location: Hartselle, AL
Wage: $24.33/hour
Shift: 1st, 4a-2:30p, Mon-Thur with some OT

While reporting to the Supervisor, as a Mig Welder, safely use specialized equipment in order to manufacture steel reels.  Safety, quality, productivity and strong work ethic are important to the Sonoco culture. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

• Use specialized equipment to weld

• Manufacture and fabricate finished metal reels

• Follow blueprints to meet product specifications 

• Calculate material measurements to verify specifications 

• Conduct tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance 

 

We’d love to hear from you if: 

• Welders must pass on-site welding test

• 2 years of welding/machine set up experience 

• Ability to stand for 8-12 hours 

• Familiarity with engineering blueprints and schematics
