Job Description:

Responsibilities

The Staff Development Specialist III will develop and present training programs to maintain and improve the knowledge, skills, and abilities that staff use to carry out the Department’s mission. The incumbent will conduct live and virtual training for agency employees and develop live and online training programs that will promote a more inclusive workplace and upskill the workforce while encouraging employee engagement. The incumbent will design and deliver engaging learning experiences for a diverse workforce.  The incumbent will work with the Staff Development team to leverage strategic and developmental skills with a cross-functional group of partners.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of experience conducting training programs; OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience delivering/facilitating highly interactive virtual learning programs, webinars, or virtual meetings. Experience using authoring software, such as Lectora.  Experience using virtual meeting and training platforms such as Zoom, Webex, MS Teams, or other web conferencing tools. Demonstrated knowledge of the latest professional training techniques including a willingness to keep abreast of new techniques, research, and technology to broaden knowledge. Experience in curriculum development for adult learners.

Conditions of Employment

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
